Specialized Demo Race 29″/27.5″ Mountain Bike 2022 Combining robustness with precision, the Demo Race 29″/27.5″ Mountain Bike has been conceived by Specialized to tackle the type of terrain found on the most demanding World Cup downhill courses. An M5 alloy frame is light, stiff and strong and accommodates a burly Ohlins TTX 22 M coil rear shock to ensure the biggest hits are soaked up with consummate ease. This shock offers external low-speed compression and rebound adjustment and combines with the advanced kinematics and more rearward axle path of the rear suspension design to guarantee traction and composure across jagged rocks and over the biggest jumps. An Ohlins DH38 M.1 suspension fork complements the frame, utilising its 200mm of plush travel to smooth any course, affording smoother, faster, and more confident feeling runs. The frame design can accept either 27.5″ or 29″ wheels, and this build includes the former size on the rear for heightened manoeuvrability over technical courses. This is partnered within a mullet configuration by a 29″ front wheel for extra traction and momentum over varying surface conditions. Bombproof wheel builds absorb the hits and minimise maintenance time, while the SRAM X01 DH 7-speed gear setup glides accurately across its sprockets. Magura 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes complete the build, giving powerful and precise stopping power, no matter the trail conditions. Highlights A burly, accurate and fast downhill bike for conquering daredevil descents at breakneck speeds The M5 alloy frame is light, stiff and strong A Ohlins TTX 22 M coil shock integrated into the frame’s rear can handle the biggest hits of the most challenging World Cup downhill tracks The coil shock offers external low speed compression and rebound adjustment for guaranteed traction and composure The rear suspension’s advanced kinematics and more rearward axle path better handles big impacts, affording more momentum and control A Trunnion mount within the rear suspension configuration offers extra bushing overlap for increased durability The Ohlins DH38 M.1 suspension fork’s 200mm of travel will ensures smoother, faster, and more confident feeling runs The frame design uses flip chips to accommodate a 29” or 27.5” rear wheel for a tailored ride depending on the terrain This build comes supplied with a 29” front wheel for extra traction and a 27.5” rear wheel to increase manoeuvrability The wheels have a bombproof build to handle the roughest riding SRAM’s X01 DH, 7-speed gear setup provides incredibly accurate shifting Magura 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes improve stopping power and precision in all conditions
